Project 8.1a Model a Miniature Train

Project 8.1a Model a Miniature Train (Optional)

Conclusion
1.      Why are drawings composed of different line conventions?
Different line conventions are required to convey the appropriate dimensions for the object in question.

2.      What is the purpose of a sectional view?

Sectional view provides  designers with inside view of hidden feature otherwise not perceivable for looking externally.

3.      What is the purpose of an auxiliary view?

The purpose of auxiliary view are made to provide dimensions of objects that have faces that are not always parallel to principle views.

4.      Why are symbols used instead of words to identify hole types?

Due to the limited space available and to prevent visual cluttering, holes are identified by symbols.

5.      What advantage is there to using algebraic equations instead of numerical values when defining the dimensions of a CAD model?

Algebraic equations are precise and prevents calculation errors rather than inputting numerical values.

6.      What three types of constraints can be applied to CAD sketches or models?

2D, 3D, and numerical constraints can be applied to CAD sketches or models.

7.      What advantages do CAD drawings have over paper sketches?

CAD drawings are precise and allows changes made to parts to be updated into drawing automatically.
