Conclusion
1.      What do the arrows on a cutting plane line indicate?
It indicates the place the section view takes place and the facing plane  of it.


2.      What is the difference between a half and a full section?
Full section shows the entire portion of the object while half section only shows a part.

3.      Are hidden lines shown in a section view?
They are not shown in section view.


4.      What conventions are associated with section lines?
Shaded regions indicate places that are not hollow inside while those that are not are empty spaces.

Why is it important for an engineer to know this piece of information? US customary system has fractions. Moreover SI measurements are only in power of tens while US customary system is not.
