Conclusion
1.      Explain the concept of proportion.  How does the concept of proportion relate to creating a realistic sketch?
Proportions ensure that the sketches drawn are to scale in accordance with the contents and parts of it. This will further prevent any distortions in the sketching.

2.      Why would the ability to create realistic sketches make a person a more competent designer?
Realistic sketches allows the designers to express the idea they wish to get across. Moreover the product ends up in the way the designer intends to do so.

3.      Give an example of a visual or graphic representation of information that has more impact than an explanation of the information in text.
In Biology class when trying to learn muscles and bones in the human body, a graphic representation of the information is more impactful than explanation in text. Rather than describing the muscles location in the human body and distance in relation to each other, the visual representation if better.

4.      In your opinion, what is the most important thing to know/do in order to create a realistic sketch of an object?
In my opinion, the most important thing in order to get  a realistic sketch is to be able to execute the contour line of an object. This allows the object to look with similar outline, as well as details being added at right place.
